Dogs for Adoption

Our Dog Adoption process

If you are interested in adopting from us, please keep an eye on this page and Facebook where we will be advertising some of our lovely rescue dogs in need of a home very soon.

We are only taking applications via our website at the moment.

Visitors are not able to come and view the dogs on site without a prior appointment.

Please read our How to Adopt page before applying to adopt an animal.

Dog Adoption donations

We ask for an adoption donation of £180 for a dog and £250 for puppies aged 6 months and under.

This includes:

  • neutering or spaying (if under 6 months a voucher will be issued)
  • first part of their annual vaccination
  • all veterinary costs while the dog is at Teckels
  • worming and flea treatment
  • microchipping
  • four weeks free pet insurance with PetPlan

This fee is only a contribution to the cost of caring for an animal in rescue until they are adopted, and we would ask all adopters to consider becoming a regular donor, as a way of continuing your support.

Please don’t forget to buy your associated pet products from our shop. Every little helps towards the ongoing care of our animals.

Neutering Policy

Neutering is the only effective and safe way to reduce the number of unwanted dogs in the UK and most rescues will have a policy similar to Teckels.

It is important that potential adopters understand that it is mandatory for all Teckels puppies (male and female) to be neutered when they reach the appropriate age, and we will provide adopters with a neuter voucher for this purpose.

This voucher is redeemable at one of several Gloucestershire vet surgeries.

When you adopt a puppy from us you enter into a contractual agreement to neuter your dog at the appropriate age and you acknowledge that Teckels reserves the right to remove the dog from your care if you do not adhere to the terms of the agreement.
