As we head towards the festive season, many families begin clearing out cupboards, toy boxes and wardrobes to make space for the excitement of Christmas.
This year, if you find yourself sorting through toys your child has outgrown or clothes they no longer wear, we’d be so grateful if you could think of Teckels.
We’re running a special Christmas Toys and Clothes Appeal through our charity shop, and every donation will help in two important ways:
- it gives local children the chance to enjoy a brighter Christmas, and
- it helps raise funds for the animals who rely on us every single day.
Why your donations matter
Good quality toys and children’s clothes are always in high demand. By donating items you no longer need, you’re helping us stock our charity shop with affordable, much loved gifts in time for Christmas. Families facing a tougher winter will be able to find presents they might otherwise struggle to provide.
At the same time, every sale directly supports the rescue dogs and cats here at Teckels. From warm bedding and veterinary care to enrichment, training and everyday essentials, your generosity helps us give each animal the comfort and support they deserve.
A pre Christmas tidy can make a real difference. Something your family has finished with could be exactly what another child is hoping for, all while helping an animal feel safe, warm and cared for.
What we’re looking for…
We’d love donations of:
• toys in good condition
• children’s clothes, washed and ready to wear
• books, puzzles and games
• small accessories suitable for Christmas gifting
Every item helps, and the more festive stock we can offer, the more support we can provide for our animals during one of the busiest times of year.
Where to drop off your donations
You can bring your items directly to our charity shop:
17 Russell Street, Stroud, GL5 3AQ
Or, if it’s easier, you can drop them off at our main site:
Teckels Animal Sanctuaries, Bristol Road, Whitminster, Gloucester GL2 7LU
💚 Thank you for supporting our community
Christmas is a time for kindness, and this appeal brings together two causes close to our hearts: helping local families and giving our animals the best care possible.
If you’re able to donate, share our appeal or pop in for a browse, you’ll be making a real difference this festive season.
From all of us at Teckels – two legged and four legged – thank you.
