Scruff

Little live wire scruff is on the hunt for her new home. This petit pocket rocket is full of energy and would make a great countryside adventure dog for an active family. We do feel her exposure to busier environments has been limited and she can be worried around loud traffic and lots of ‘out of context’ noises however she really comes into her own when she’s out in the fields near our centre. She would prefer to live in a quieter area and her new family will need to introduce her to new places at a pace she is comfortable with.

Scruff has the potential to live with sensible children of teenage age (depending on introductions at the centre), she does have a worried side so dog savvy children who are gentle and able to understand her boundaries would be best.

Scruff could possibly share her home with a small dog. She has shared her home previously with other small dogs, but she can be worried around medium – large dogs. She will need a tolerant friend as she can get a little giddy and isn’t always aware her behaviour isn’t ideal when she’s running past them in zoomie mode! Scruff will require further socialisation around bigger dogs once she is settled in her new home.

We are unsure how much training Scruff has received previously so we would like her to attend positive reinforcement training classes to help with her basic obedience as well as her confidence and social skills.

Scruff could possibly be left for short periods but would prefer her new family to be around for good periods of the day.

New owners will need to be prepared to take scruff to the groomers regularly to keep her coat maintained.

She will make a cracking pet once given the time and training to help her settle in.
