My name is
Lovely Cooper is a 4-year-old French Bulldog who is looking for a very special home where he can feel safe, secure and understood.
Cooper is a sensitive boy who can find the world a little overwhelming. He can be worried when meeting new people and can also find being over handled difficult, particularly when it comes to vet visits. Because of this, Cooper is looking for a patient and understanding home where his family will be happy to take things slowly and allow him the time he needs to build up trust.
Once Cooper gets to know you, his lovely personality really starts to shine through. He enjoys a cuddle with the people he trusts and absolutely loves his toys. He is very food-motivated, which is a real bonus when it comes to building his confidence and continuing his training. Cooper already knows some basic obedience and is always keen to show off what he knows when there are tasty treats involved!
Cooper has previously lived in a home, so he has experience of life as part of a family. Once he is settled and feels secure in his new surroundings, we feel he could potentially be left for short periods. As with everything with Cooper, this would need to be introduced gradually and at his own pace.
Cooper would initially benefit from quieter walking areas where he can enjoy his walks without lots of people, dogs and distractions around him. Cooper can be quite strong on the lead at times, so would benefit from some additional work on his lead manners to help him enjoy calmer walks.
Cooper is looking for an adult only home with someone who understands that he may need some time to settle and get to know his family. His new family will need to be patient and respectful of his boundaries, allowing him to interact in his own time. Adopters should also look past his charming French bulldog looks, and carefully consider the financial costs of owning this breed.
Cooper has had some nice interactions with sociable dogs out on his walks and although he is looking for a home as an only dog, in the future, and with the right introductions, Cooper could have some walking buddies. This will need some ongoing training and management to ensure introductions are appropriate, though luckily for his humans, he is a clever foody so has good potential to learn some more dog social skills once settled in a home.
If you think Cooper could be the boy for you, please see the ‘how to adopt’ section on our website or alternatively click the ‘enquire now’ button. Please note due to the number of applications, we are only able to contact successful applicants.
